Sting Ray - Torpedo Offline Simulator

The OLS (or Off Line Simulation) is a simulation of Sting Ray torpedo engagements with targets in the underwater environment. The OLS is capable of simulating many different environments, targets and weapon characteristics, all of which you are able to edit using the tools built into the simulation. The OLS is a highly visual simulation. It comes equipped with many graphical plots and layouts to provide you with a visual representation of the simulation while in operation.

The OLS also has the capability to execute many engagements to gain “Monte Carlo” statistical data. These engagements or runs are grouped into batches of runs with the same starting parameters but with different drop positions and weapon headings. The OLS comes equipped with several tools to analyze the results of the simulation to generate statistical data.

The OLS is only supported for use with Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista on any industry standard PC with a minimum hardware requirement of a 2 GHz, Pentium 4 processor, 1 GB of RAM and 10 GB of free hard disk space.

The environment settings dialog allows to edit the parameters concerned with the simulated environment in the OLS. From the menu the following options can be set:

  • depth of the environment (Depth);
  • sea state (Sea State);
  • composition of the sea bed (Sea Bed);
  • sea temperature (Sea Temperature) and sea salinity (Salinity);
  • speed of sound in the environment;
